Pete Buttigieg will campaign in Tucson in two weeks after canceling an event earlier this summer.
The former U.S. secretary of transportation will rally for Arizona’s Democratic Congressional District 6 candidate JoAnna Mendoza on Saturday, Sept. 12, at 6:30 p.m.

The location will be announced closer to the event, the campaign wrote in a news release. The event will also feature down-ballot Democratic candidates, it said, but did not list them yet.
Doors will open at 5 p.m. The public RSVP link is at mobilize.us/mendozaforcongress.
Buttigieg was previously scheduled to campaign on June 28 for Mendoza, who is challenging Republican U.S. Rep. Juan Ciscomani in the November election, with the Mendoza campaign saying at the time that Buttigieg and Mendoza would address issues affecting veterans and military families.

He canceled. The day the event was supposed to take place, he wrote in a personal Substack post that he and his husband Chasten were facing unfounded allegations of child endangerment following a complaint to Child Protective Services from a woman he had never met. He called the allegations a “politically motivated hoax” and “the ugliest thing that has happened to me since my career in service began.”
Michigan State Police told NPR at the time that it had received an anonymous report that state police and CPS responded to and "determined the report was false."
