Why are you running? I am running for Constable to have the opportunity to serve residents of Pima County. Because constable offices have the responsibility for serving civil and criminal papers of the Pima Justice Court, constables interact day-to-day with residents throughout the County. In these interactions my passion for helping people and my desire to strengthen our community will bring fresh ideas and new commitment to the office.
What unique qualities do you have that will help you, if elected? I've been very fortunate to have the opportunity to work for the county, city, state and the private sector. This has allowed me to establish great people skills, knowledge of community resources, and compassion for others. As I have shown through other community positions, I bring great energy and enthusiasm to my work, and I will do the same in the office of constable.
What changes, if any, would you like to see implemented once elected? My reputation of taking a 'hands on approach' to helping people and serving neighborhoods would breathe new life into the office of Constable in Precinct 6. I would work more closely with local officials to explore solutions such as:
-Establishing a committee to bring landlords and residents to engage in problem solving issues associated with evictions and other housing problems.
-Creating a non-profit or other vehicle that can provide minor home repair assistance for elderly and disabled homeowners living in Precinct 6.
