On Monday, July 13, crews from Southern Arizona Paving, under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT), will begin work to improve the pavement conditions on 22nd Street from Kolb Road to Sarnoff Drive the City of Tucson said in a press release.
Crews will begin the project with the lowering of manhole covers and water valve covers. Lowering the utility covers is scheduled to be complete by Thursday, July 16, 2015. Work will take place from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
On Wednesday, July 22, 2015, crews will begin milling (removing asphalt) and repaving 22nd Street. Work hours will be a combination of night and day hours. Night time hours will be 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Daytime hours will be 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. The paving work is scheduled to be complete by Thursday, August 6, 2015 followed by utility adjustments the weeks of August 10 and 17, 2015. Electronic message boards will be in place to alert motorists of this upcoming work.

This pavement improvement project is part of the $100 million, five-year street bond program - Road Recovery. The Road Recovery program is funded by voter-approved bonds.
Residential and business access will be maintained at all times during the project, except for when heavy equipment is directly in front of a driveway. At least one lane of travel in each direction will be maintained during this work. Please obey all traffic control signs and watch for construction personnel and equipment in these work areas. The schedule is subject to change due to equipment malfunction or inclement weather.
