Bird expert Kenn Kaufman will join the Audubon "Bird Walks for Beginners" at 8 a.m. Saturday at Sam Lena Park, 3400 S. Country Club Road.
Kaufman is author of the "Kaufman Field Guide to Birds of North America," also available in a Spanish-language edition, "Guía de Campo Kaufman a las Aves de Norteamérica."
Walk participants can learn about common birds of the area and special birds that come to the park. The free event is open to the public.
Sam Lena Park is surrounded on the north and west by the Ed Pastor Kino Ecosystem Restoration Project. The project integrates stormwater control with habitat for wildlife.
The event is sponsored by the Tucson Audubon Society.
Directions: Go north on Country Club Road from East Ajo Way and take the first left into the park. Park in the lot between the park and the Kino Recreation Center.
