The office of U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords will hold three workshops next week to provide Southern Arizonans in Tucson, Green Valley and Sierra Vista with information on the Medicare program, including enrollment and reporting fraud.
At the three sessions, representatives from Giffords' office as well as from the Department of Health and Human Services and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services will present information.
The first workshop is scheduled for 5:30 to 7 p.m. Monday at the YWCA, 525 N. Bonita Ave.
A Green Valley session is set for 10 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Joyner-Green Valley Library, 601 La Cañada Drive, No. 101.
The Sierra Vista workshop will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Sierra Vista Public Library, 2600 E. Tacoma St.
Scheduled speakers include Peter Bauer of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, who will discuss the basics of Medicare enrollment, Medicare Part D, prescription drug plans, Medicare Savings Program and secondary insurance.

Il Yong Jeon of the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of the Inspector General, will talk about trends in Medicare fraud, how to report Medicare fraud, tips on Medicare ID theft prevention and other ways to keep your personal health information safe.
Also, Giffords staff members Dan Frey and Amanda Sapir will discuss common Medicare-related problems and what the office can do to help.
