In every vote that's been taken this spring to advance the Republican budget, Juan Ciscomani has been on board with Donald Trump and Project 2025. And every time I’ve called his office, his staff either “doesn’t know” his position or pleads for patience so that we can see just what a champion of Medicaid and SNAP he is. The culmination of this charade took place this week as Ciscomani cast a decisive vote for the budget that the Congressional Budget Office says will eviscerate both programs. The budget passed the House by a 215-214 vote. His vote mattered. And he voted to harm tens of thousands of his constituents, and tens of millions of Americans. The beneficiaries of his vote are billionaires. Watch what Ciscomani does, not what he says, because his word, like Trump’s, is worth nothing.
