Sara Brown, a Salpointe Catholic High School alum, earned her LPGA Tour card for 2011 at a Qualifying School tournament Sunday.
Brown carded a 2-over-par 362 for the five rounds at the LPGA International Course in Daytona Beach, Fla. Her score was "on the number," as she was among those who tied for the last spot above the cutoff.
"I was trying to stay in it and take it one shot at a time," Brown, 25, said in a news release. "But to be honest, on hole 17 I told my caddie I was either going to puke or cry. Neither one would have been good. I was nervous to say the least."
After a college career at Michigan State, Brown played three years on the LPGA Futures Tour. She is now in Spain trying to qualify for the Ladies European Tour.
