Thanks in part to three strong games in Sahlen Field against the Toronto Blue Jays, Tampa Bay Rays second baseman Brandon Lowe was named American League Player of the Week on Monday.
Lowe, 26, was 6 for 12 as the Rays won two of three games during their trip to Buffalo. He homered in the Rays' first two games here to extend his personal streak to four games, with his solo shot to deep left-center off Jordan Romano in the ninth inning giving Tampa Bay a 3-2 win Sunday in the completion of Saturday's suspended game.
