It looks dicey if the New York Yankees will have Giancarlo Stanton in their lineup when they come to Sahlen Field to meet the Toronto Blue Jays for a three-game series that opens Sept. 7.
Stanton was placed on the 10-day injured list with a left hamstring strain on Sunday, and MLB Network's Jon Heyman reports today that the injury is a Grade 1 strain. Although that's the least severe, Heyman says it still could mean Stanton would be out of the lineup 3 to 4 weeks.
The injury apparently took place on the basepaths Saturday during a game at Tampa Bay.

Stanton was batting .293 with three homers and seven RBIs in 14 games at the time of the injury. He also had nearly as many walks (10) as strikeouts (11).
Just three years removed from a 59-home run season with the Miami Marlins, Stanton has struggled with injuries since joining the Yankees in 2018. Last season, he was limited to just 18 games because of a biceps strain followed by a knee injury. He would have started this season on the IL in March due to calf strain suffered in spring training.Â
If Stanton misses the first series in Buffalo, he still could appear at Sahlen Field on Sept. 21-24 when the Yankees are here again for a four-game series.
