Arizona will return most of its key pieces on offense in 2016, but still will have a hole to fill at the receiver position— with Cayleb Jones (6-3) and David Richards (6-4) gone, the Wildcats are left with only one contributing receiver taller than 6-feet in Trey Griffey, who is 6-3.
Best case scenario, the Wildcats convince Waterford Mott (Michigan) receiver Desmond Fitzpatrick to make his collegiate trek to Tucson. Friday, Arizona received some good news on that front — the four-star WR announced on Twitter that UA was in his final four, along with Louisville, Nebraska and Indiana.
Fitzpatrick already decommitted from Louisville once, so it's believed that Nebraska is probably the favorite for him, but if Arizona can convince him to come to campus for an official — which I think it will — before the Feb. 3 signing day, it might have a shot. He's scheduled for a Louisville visit next weekend (Jan. 29) but it wouldn't shock me if he canceled that.

He was scheduled to visit Arizona earlier this month, cancelled it in favor of a visit to Mississippi State, and then cancelled that visit to MSU too.Â
Fitzpatrick is 6-foot-2, supposedly runs a 4.5 40-yard dash and as a senior he had 60 catches for 1,317 yards and 23 touchdowns, adding six interceptions on defense. Check out his Hudl video from his junior season below. It's impressive.
Tony Dews (receivers) and Calvin Magee (offensive coordinator) are the ones that initially offered Fitzpatrick the scholarship back in November, and I imagine they're leading the charge now, too.Â
Arizona is also in the top-three for 2-star Kee Whetzel, a 6-3 receiver from Clearwater, Florida, scheduled for a Jan. 29 official visit to Tucson. UCF is the favorite for him and he's also considering Maryland.Â
