Arizona was on the verge of statehood the last time 11-11-11 came around. It was a Saturday, and Arizona Daily Star archives show Tucsonans had lots of entertainment options (although none tied to that auspicious date).
The University of Arizona Varsity hosted the National Guard of Arizona from Prescott in an afternoon game (we're thinking football, admission 50 cents). The People's Theatre offered a program of vaudeville, complete with drama, comedy and romance. Fisher's Music Store advertised a Victor Victrola "program of unusual magnitude."
In addition to "progress and prosperity for Arizona," the Republican Rally at the Tucson Opera House promised a "free moving picture show and concert by the Old Pueblo Band."
And The Legal Tender cafeteria served "The Best Meal in Tucson" for 25 cents.
A century later, the Pasqua Yaqui nation timed the opening of its $100 million Casino del Sol Resort to coincide with 11-11-11, and it is offering a weekend of superstar concerts. Free late-night shows are planned for the ballroom while tickets start at $50 for superstars Tim McGraw and Pepe Aguilar.
