A man who was shot at by a deputy during a foot chase early Sunday was arrested in Tucson after an hourslong manhunt.
The incident started about 5:30 a.m. when deputies answered a call about gunfire in the 6900 block of West Naomi Road, southwest of Tucson along South Kinney Road, the Pima County Sheriff's Department said in a news release.
Deputies found a large number of people leaving a house when they made contact with Ibrahim Kafi, 18, and two other males. At some point, Kafi ran off and a deputy fired at him after seeing Kafi had a gun, the release said.Â
Kafi eluded deputies at the scene, but was taken into custody about 5:30 p.m. near East 22nd Street and South Alvernon Way, the department said. He was jailed on suspicion of weapons misconduct, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, the release said.
