Gov. Jan Brewer has appointed Karen Adam and Scott Rash to Pima County Superior Court.
Adam, a 23-year court commissioner, will be replacing Judge Patricia Escher; and Rash, a local attorney, will be replacing Judge Nanette Warner. Escher and Warner retired earlier this year.
Adam graduated from the University of Arizona College of Law in 1976 and received her undergraduate degree from the UA in 1972. She has worked for the Tucson City Court, the Pima County Public Defender's Office and as a court commissioner.
"Karen Adam is a proven jurist with an outstanding record of service to the citizens of Pima County," Brewer said in a news release. "She is an advocate for children and has been instrumental in achieving reforms that have helped self-represented litigants navigate their way through family court proceedings, and I am certain she will continue her hard work to improve our justice system as a Superior Court judge."
