Re: the Dec. 16 letter “Unbelievable.”
The writer, who regularly spews fiction, is at it again. This time, he left out a critical fact that makes his point moot.
He wrote that the Biden administration is auctioning the steel sheets that were stored after the president ordered a halt to border wall construction in Arizona.
What he failed to mention was that the sale is required under federal acquisition regulations, as reported by Newsweek on Dec. 13. Perhaps he did not know that, or perhaps he omitted it so he could call Biden’s actions “potentially treasonous.”
He evidently didn’t read the Constitution’s Article III, Section 3, which defines treason. The definition does not include following federal regulations.
He ended by saying that Texas will purchase the steel panels and return them to the federal government, “so fortunately, there is common sense in some areas of our nation.”
