Dan Ryan's vacant anchor chair has been permanently filled.
The new sports anchor at KVOA (Channel 4) is Ryan Recker, a 27-year-old who has spent the last five years in Steubenville, Ohio, as the main sports anchor for WTOV's weeknight newscasts.
Recker will begin at KVOA on Feb. 5, but his first air date has not been announced.
Recker replaced Ryan, who left the station in December after 20 years.
"I want to continue that legacy that Dan left there," Recker said via phone from Steubenville on Friday night.
"I felt at home at the station and felt that I fit in there."
Recker said he looks forward to what Tucson sports have to offer, including covering college sports, spring training, the World Match Play Championships and being active outdoors.

"Our bread and butter here is high schools," Recker said. "But we fall into a unique area because we cover teams in Ohio, West Virginia and Pennsylvania. This has been a great place to learn."
The Pittsburgh native graduated from Robert Morris University with a degree in communications, specializing in sports.
