A former Christian-school teacher was arrested over the weekend on a child-sex charge.
Joshua Carroll, 28, faces one count of sexual conduct with a minor, the Tucson Police Department said in a news release Sunday.
He was arrested after the victim's mother told police that Carroll might be having an inappropriate relationship with her 13-year-old daughter.
Detectives retrieved physical and computer evidence, the release said.
Officials are still investigating and wouldn't answer further questions Sunday.
Carroll had been a teacher at River of Life Christian School, 6902 E. Golf Links Road.
Dale Hicks, pastor of the affiliated River of Life Church, said Sunday evening that he'd just learned of the incident and couldn't comment.

It was unclear Sunday if the victim attended the school or if the reported relationship began when Carroll was still a teacher at the school. The release only said he "was recently let go" from the school.
The school serves students in grades K-12.
Like several other parishioners who attended the church's 6 p.m. service Sunday, Cheryl Montague, 17, said she was surprised by the news.
"We haven't heard anything about it," said Montague, who used to attend the school and said she had a good experience there.
Carroll remained at the Pima County jail late Sunday on $75,000 bond.
