The TUSD Governing Board appointed 11 people to administrative positions Tuesday night.
Both Gale and Holladay elementary schools will have new leaders in Jennifer Figueroa and Tonya Stozier respectively. Figueroa was the principal of Miller Elementary while Stozier is coming from Nevada where she was an assistant principal.
Schools with new assistant principals are:
- Erickson Elementary: Mary Kolsrud, formerly the magnet program coordinator at Carrillo K-5
- Grijalva Elementary: Megan Chavez, formerly the curriculum facilitator/teacher mentor at Robins Elementary
- Pistor Middle School: Michael Beck, formerly an associate principal at Mountain View High School in Marana
- Valencia Middle School: Brenda Meneguin, formerly the curriculum facilitator/teacher mentor at Secrist Middle School
- Utterback Middle School: Gabriela (Marie) Daranyi, formerly the dean of students at Challenger Middle School in Sunnyside
- Palo Verde Magnet High School: Kevin Amidan, formerly the assistant principal at Tucson High

Holly Leman-Hammel, Ford Elementary principal, was named the director of elementary K-8 education.
Manzo Principal Mark Alvarez was appointed director of language acquisition.
Martha Taylor who has been serving as interim senior director of desegregation compliance will take on the role permanently.
