Veterans' groups and military supporters will host a memorial service on Sunday at the University of Arizona to commemorate the sinking of the USS Arizona.
The public event marks the 67th anniversary of the Japanese attack on the U.S. Naval Base at Pearl Harbor.
The service will be held at the UA's Student Union Memorial Center and will feature an address by retired National Guard Brig. Gen. Gregg Maxon, former director of the Arizona Department of Veterans' Services.
Music will be provided by the Sahuarita High School Band, with the colors posted by the school's Navy Junior ROTC cadets.
The event is hosted by the UA, the Green Valley Branch 77 Fleet Reserve Association, the Arizona Department of Veterans' Services, the Tucson Council of the United States Navy League and the Tucson Base of the United States Submarine Veterans.
