Letter: Please get practical

Multitudes of letters to the editor urge people to contact their Congresspersons to protest what Mr. Trump is bringing to our country. I respectfully urge that such efforts will have very minimal effect because Mr. Trump owns most of those whom you would call and they really don't care what you think. Oh, such calls might minimally shift the trajectory of the comet about to strike us all, but I think all that means is that you won't get wiped out today, but "the ax" will fall tomorrow. I urge that a more practical approach is for people to put down their cell phones after the calls are made, get off their collective rear ends, get much more involved and work like crazy to change who their Congress persons are. The best chance to do that comes in the 2026 midterm elections. Don't waste the opportunity.
