At the Pima.gov website one will find the "Buffelgrass Complaint Form." My initial response, when I saw this 4-page form, was to laugh. Everywhere I drive in the county I see buffelgrass and fountain grass growing along the sides of streets and roadways. Will Pima County even do anything if I fill out this form? I realize my comment sounds very critical. At the same time, I understand Pima County does not have the resources to truly address this labor-intensive challenge to the Sonoran Desert and property. So, what can Pima County do with its limited resources? Every year property owners in Pima County receive a property tax statement in the U.S. mail. It would be relatively inexpensive for Pima County to include in the same envelope non-threatening educational material to help property owners understand the threat of these Class C invasive grasses and how to effectively manage the problem. Come on Pima County, you can do better!
