The Arizona Wildcats' run in the NCAA men's tennis tournament came to an end in the Elite Eight Thursday when UA fell to top-seeded Wake Forest.
Arizona punched its ticket to the quarterfinals for the first time in program history after a string of home tournament wins over NAU 4-0, Clemson 4-2 and Oklahoma 4-3.
But on the road in Athens, Georgia, the Cats lost 4-1, closing out the season with a 24-5 record.
Arizona's doubles duos of Filip Gustafsson and Glib Sekachov, and Jay Friend and Alexander Rozin fell 6-2 and 6-0, respectively.
Rozin locked in the Cats' only victory in singles, defeating Luca Pow 6-3, 7-5.

Gustafsson fell to Wake Forest's Mees Rottgering 6-2, 6-1, Sekachov lost 6-4, 6-2 to Aryan Shah, while Arizona's Alejandro Arcila lost in three sets to Joaquin Guilleme 0-6, 7-5, 6-3.

Wake Forest entered Thursday's quarterfinal riding an eight-match winning streak after capturing the ACC Tournament title.
Wake Forest, which took home the 2025 NCAA title, moves on to face the winner of the Mississippi St.-Virginia matchup in the semifinals Saturday, while TCU and Texas also vie for a spot in the championship round.
