A Rincon High School teacher accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a student is facing termination.
The Tucson Unified School District Governing Board voted Tuesday night to issue a notice of intent to dismiss Jennifer Lynn Whiting as a result of the allegations against her and a criminal indictment.
Whiting was arrested in the "sexting" case on June 25 after Tucson police were contacted by the father of a 16-year-old boy who found sexual photos of Whiting on his son's cell phone.
Whiting, 32, had sexual contact with the boy four times from May 26 through June 23, and also involved the boy in an undisclosed drug offense three times during that period, according to the indictment.
Whiting will be put on leave for 30 days. If she does not appeal, her termination will be finalized at the end of the 30-day leave.
