l Take the PSAT test. Your results will come in four to six weeks. It gives you a chance to qualify for scholarship and recognition programs, including National Merit Scholarships, and is a good way to practice for the SAT.

● Meet with post-secondary school representatives at your campus
l Attend College Night at the Tucson Convention Center at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 21. The event, sponsored by Tucson Unified School District, is open to Tucson-area students and parents. Representatives from more than 150 colleges nationwide will be on hand to answer questions. Parking costs $4.
NOVEMBER
l Develop preliminary college lists with parents and counselors.
l Talk with college, vocational school and military reps that come to your campus
